Hanami-tori (bird and cherry blossoms) Wall clock
The traditional “Hanami-tori” (bird and cherry blossoms) design is finished using the “surihaku heaping up technique”.
- The cherry blossoms and the bird complement the austere gold – conveying the beauty of Japan
Hakuichi’s “Hanami-tori” series was created by incorporating the beauty of ancient Japanese traditions. It depicts a bird standing still amongst cherry blossoms, against a background made up of hand-pasted Kanazawa foil patterns. The bird and cherry blossoms are decorated using a unique technique called the “surihaku heaping up technique”. This handicraft made with a high level of skill has been in the hands of many customers over the years. It makes a great gift or congratulatory present.
・Gorgeous decorations using traditional techniques
Kanazawa foil, which has been specially processed to express texture, is applied through a traditional technique in which each piece is hand-torn to match the surface’s dimensions. For their part, the cherry blossoms and the little bird standing still are decorated using a unique decorative technique called the “surihaku heaping up technique” to create a sense of perspective and depth.
