A J WOOD, we have continued to make products that have inherited “Calming Traditional Culture” that expresses inherent Japanese qualities. As off-the-shelf products have become mainstream, handmade traditional-style woodworking is becoming rarer and rarer. Still, we will continue to make products that satisfy our customers, and increase opportunities for people in Japan and abroad to learn about their advantages. We hope to hear from you so we can make a space for you that feels Japanese.
Careful and deliberate; something that cannot be mass produced.We envision the finished product, yet pay close attention to detail. Compared to creating a single uniform piece, like in mass production, this work certainly takes time. However, we believe that for true human thinking and consideration for usability, the way to bring out our abilities is by actually moving our hands to draw lines. We put thought into finishing details, such as which face of the wood to put at the surface.
